French Speeches due on Tuesday

Speech presentations will being on Tuesday February 17th 2015. Students are to hand in a typed copy on Tuesday for a written mark, and present it for an oral mark throughout next week. Students know the rules (e.g. 2-4 minutes), and are to follow them throughout their speech.

Concours d'art oratoire

Dear Parents,

The grade 5-8 French Immersion classes (FI 5/6 A & B, FI 7/8 A &B)  will be taking part in the Concours d'art Oratoire organized by the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association and Canadian Parents for French (Ontario). Students have been learning about argumentative texts, and about speeches. In class, from February 17-20, students will be presenting their argumentative text as a speech. A formal assignment document will be distributed next week with the rules and rubric. One winner from each class will be selected, and on Wednesday February 25th, the 4 contestants will present their speech in front of judges and two finalists will be selected (one from 5/6 and the other from 7/8) to go onto the next round (dates TBD).

I am looking forward to participating in this festival as it will enhance students skills in different strands!
