Please bring your novels for this Wednesday. You will have a silent period to read them, or even start a rough draft of your Cube.

Concours d'art oratoire
Dear Parents,
The grade 5-8 French Immersion classes (FI 5/6 A & B, FI 7/8 A &B) will be taking part in the Concours d'art Oratoire organized by the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association and Canadian Parents for French (Ontario). Students have been learning about argumentative texts, and about speeches. In class, from February 17-20, students will be presenting their argumentative text as a speech. A formal assignment document will be distributed next week with the rules and rubric. One winner from each class will be selected, and on Wednesday February 25th, the 4 contestants will present their speech in front of judges and two finalists will be selected (one from 5/6 and the other from 7/8) to go onto the next round (dates TBD).
You may wish to consult the festival's website for more information:

I am looking forward to participating in this festival as it will enhance students skills in different strands!
